Final Community Meetings: Cesar Chavez Potential Renaming

Two Cesar Chavez Middle School students and a staff member speak during a informational meeting.

Dear Lynwood Unified School District Community,

Lynwood Unified School District invites students, families, staff, alumni and Lynwood residents to participate in the final community meetings regarding the potential renaming of Cesar Chavez Middle School.

Community input gathered through these meetings and the District survey will help inform the Board of Education as it considers next steps in the process.

These final meetings are an opportunity for community members to ensure their voices, perspectives and ideas are included in this important community conversation. Participants will have the opportunity to share feedback on whether the school’s name should change, suggest potential school names and discuss the values or themes they would like the name to reflect.

Virtual Meeting

Tuesday, May 26 | 6 to 7:30 p.m.

In-Person Meeting

Wednesday, May 27 | 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Location: Cesar Chavez Middle School Library

Each meeting will cover the same information and attendees are encouraged to participate in the session that best fits their schedule.

Community members who are unable to attend are encouraged to share their feedback through the District’s online survey.

Lynwood Unified values community voices as an essential part of shaping decisions that reflect the District’s shared priorities, students and future. Additional information and updates will continue to be shared on the dedicated Cesar Chavez Middle School renaming webpage.
