Lynwood Unified Schools Celebrate the Power of Family Engagement

Lynwood Unified Schools Celebrate the Power of Family Engagement

Lynwood Unified schools were filled with warmth, laughter and gratitude as campuses across the District celebrated National Parental Involvement Day on November 20, honoring the incredible parents and guardians who make a lasting difference in the lives of students.

Across Lynwood schools, families were welcomed with heartfelt appreciation and creative activities designed to celebrate the power of partnership between home and school. From coffee and pastries meetups to family workshops and treat distributions, every campus found unique ways to say thank you to parents for their ongoing support and engagement.

Elementary schools spread joy with pastries, coffee, key chain giveaways and thank-you bags. Wilson Elementary invited families to get moving with a Bachata session, Will Rogers Elementary hosted a tea party and Helen Keller Elementary School hosted a workshop for families.

Hosler and Cesar Chavez also hosted drive-thru events where families received treats and words of gratitude from smiling staff members. Meanwhile, Firebaugh and Lynwood high schools welcomed parents to coffee and chat sessions with the principal, Paint and Sip gatherings, and even performances by cheer and band students who greeted families during campus tours.

These special moments reflect Lynwood Unified’s unwavering commitment to nurturing meaningful partnerships with families. The District believes that when parents are actively engaged – whether by attending workshops, volunteering or simply attending school events – students thrive both academically and emotionally.
