Dress Code & Campus Policies

Dressed for Success, Every Day 

At Cesar Chavez Middle School, we believe that success starts with responsibility, respect, and readiness to learn. All students are expected to follow our school-wide behavior expectations, which help create a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment.

General Student Expectations

  • Follow our PBIS Matrix – Be Respectful, Responsible, and Ready

  • Wear your student ID at all times

  • Use your agenda daily to stay organized

  • Talk to an adult if you need help or face challenges

  • Bring your Chromebook charged every day and treat it with care

  • Be on time and attend school every day

  • No cell phone use during instructional time

  • Always try your best!

Dress Code & Uniform Policy

Wearing your school uniform shows you’re prepared, focused, and proud to be part of the Chavez community. Our uniform policy promotes college and career readiness and supports a focused, respectful learning environment.

What to Wear:

  • Bottoms: Khaki or navy blue pants, shorts, skirts (appropriate length), or jeans

  • Tops: White, navy, or burgundy polo shirts (must have a collar)

  • T-Shirts: Navy or burgundy t-shirts are also allowed

College Wednesdays

Show your school spirit and future goals by wearing college gear every Wednesday! Don’t have a college shirt? Wear your uniform polo instead.

Hats & Headwear

  • Baseball caps may be worn during PE and lunch for sun protection

  • Please follow teacher guidelines regarding hats, hoods, or beanies in the classroom

  • Ski masks and full face coverings are not allowed

PE Uniform Expectations

  • Students must change into a PE uniform for class

  • Lockers and locks are required to keep personal items secure
