Lynwood Unified Celebrates Families with National Parental Involvement Day

Lynwood Unified celebrated the incredible partnership between parents and schools with coffee, doughnuts, treats and smiles as part of National Parental Involvement Day on November 16.

The event raises awareness about the value of family involvement in education – whether it's attending parent-teacher conferences, volunteering in classrooms or supporting school events – and the positive impact it has on student achievement and fostering enriching learning environments.

At Helen Keller Elementary, parents had the opportunity to work on projects with their students in the classrooms while Abbott, Lindbergh, Lugo, Mark Twain, Marshall, Roosevelt, Rosa Parks and Will Rogers elementary schools treated parents to pastries and small tokens of appreciation.

Washington Elementary held a spirit week and Family Movie Night, Wilson Elementary hosted a fun Zumba class and Lincoln Elementary hosted educational presentations and workshops. Hosler and Cesar Chavez middle schools hosted morning drive-thru celebrations, while Firebaugh and Lynwood high schools hosted coffee chats and presentations.

Lynwood Unified works hand-in-hand with parents to shape a brighter future for students. To ensure families continue to be the driving force behind student success, the District provides a variety of opportunities for parents to engage and stay informed.
